Jig

Privacy notice

Refract Technologies Ltd, trading as Jig. Registered in England, company number 16914050, registered office 8 Alexandra Road, 1 Queens Road, Farnborough, Hampshire, GU14 6GS. ICO registration number to follow. Contact: hello@usejig.co.uk. Version 1.0, 31 October 2026.

This notice explains how we handle personal data. There are four situations, and they are different.

1. If you are a candidate whose CV was sent to us

A recruitment agency you are working with uses Jig to put your CV into their template. The agency is the data controller; we process your data on their instructions and only to format the document. We do not contact you, do not decide what happens to your application, and do not keep your CV: everything is deleted within 7 days of the formatted version being returned to the agency. We never use it to train software and never share it with anyone except the sub-processors needed to do the work (listed at usejig.co.uk/sub-processors), all in the UK and EU.

Your rights over that data (access, correction, erasure and the rest) are exercised through the agency, because they hold your data and we do not. If you contact us, we will tell you which agency sent your CV if we still have a record, and pass your request to them.

2. If you work at an agency that uses Jig

We process your name and work email address because you send us CVs or manage your agency's account. Lawful basis: performance of a contract with your employer. We keep a log of jobs (date, your address, outcome) for 12 months, and your details on the account for the life of the subscription plus 30 days. Billing details for the person who subscribed are held by Stripe, our payment provider.

3. If you receive an email from us introducing Jig

We email people in operations, finance and sales roles at UK recruitment agencies to introduce the service. Your name, role, work email and employer come from business data providers (currently Apollo.io) and public sources such as company websites and LinkedIn. Lawful basis: legitimate interest in marketing a business service to businesses, as permitted for corporate subscribers under PECR. We send a small number of emails and stop as soon as you ask; every email has a way to do that, and replying "stop" works too. We keep a record that you asked so we do not contact you again. We do not use tracking pixels. Sending runs through Instantly.ai; your details sit in that system for the duration of a campaign and are deleted within 6 months of the last contact if you do not reply.

4. If you visit usejig.co.uk

The site is static. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. If you fill in the sign-up form you are taken to Stripe, whose own privacy notice applies to the payment. If you email hello@usejig.co.uk we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with it and for 12 months after.

Sub-processors and location

All processing is in the UK and EU. Our sub-processors and where they operate are listed at usejig.co.uk/sub-processors. We do not transfer personal data outside the UK and EU.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Email hello@usejig.co.uk; we respond within one month. For candidate data, see section 1: the agency is the right place to ask.

Changes

We will post changes here with a new version number and date.
